ATL Baby Shower!

Some of my favorite ladies threw a baby shower for little Cooper! The shower was held at our condo & it was lots of fun! It was great being pampered & showing off our place. :) There was some pretty delicious food involved. Cooper of course got lots of great gifts & is so very spoiled! At one point there were 7 pregnant ladies out of like 13 in attendance! (We were told it's in the water here & we believe!!)

Here are some pics of the party:

Nothing like posing by the food before you dig in! :)

Getting ready to open presents!

Mom & Minnette came for the shower too. It was so great to spend time with both of them!

Cooper got hooked up!

A little collage action for you.

Special thanks to Tarin, Mandy & Erin for putting everything together!

Hartsville Baby Shower Weekend

Kyle & I headed to Hartsville for a fun weekend with family & friends. Saturday (March 5th) was my awesome baby shower thrown by my sisters-Susan, Jen, & Tiff! The shower was at Pat's house & it was really great! There was food galore thanks to Susan (including delicious cupcakes by Jen), a fabulous diaper cake by Pat, & a great turn out thanks to Tiff! It was so fun spending time with some really special people in my life. They all went over & beyond to spoil baby Cooper & myself. (Marc was our photographer so special thanks to him)
Tiff, myself, & Jen right before the shower!

Penny & Me (one of my Moms growing up!)

Tiff put up a laundry line that was quickly filled with super cute Cooper clothes!

Auntie Ann, Mom, myself, & Auntie Renee!

Some of Cooper's gifts! What a spoiled little boy! :)

Here are some more fun pics! Feel the LOVE!

The rest of the weekend was busy but a blast! The Ensign ladies went out to dinner & it was one of my favorite parts of the weekend. I was also able to see MinDee! It'd been WAY too long & little Khloee is getting so big! Bryant turned the BIG 3-0! We did a little celebrating. It was fun seeing him & Jilli along with Kevin & his crew! All in all we had a fantastic time!

We Have A Name!

For as long as I can recall I've had my future girl's names picked out. It seemed so easy come up with those names. When Kyle & I found out we were having a baby boy-I knew we were in a for some deep thought & maybe a struggle to figure out a name. For the longest time we've called our baby boy "Lil Kinney" as somewhat of a joke. Kyle & I could always decide on names we did NOT like. We thought Kinney was a nice southern name that we had fun saying but had no intentions actually naming him that.

Kyle came up with the name long before I agreed to it. Our long list of names got shorter & shorter & Kyle's favorite name never seemed to move off of the list while mine were flying off like crazy. :P One day I just woke up & knew that Kyle's name was to be the name of our future baby boy. I turned to Kyle that evening & said: "Ok Kyle. I don't know why but I just know that his name will be ___ ." Kyle joked that he changed his mind & didn't like the name anymore but after I threatened his life he laughed & said he was just kidding. :) (If you know Kyle then you know he usually takes a while to make a big decision & he RARELY has favorites so when this name stuck I knew it was right!) So there's the story-now here's the name.

Cooper Kyle Ensign

Most of you already know this info but I still felt the need to blog about it. :) We can't wait to meet our little Cooper!! Yay!!

Feeling Him Move...

I have had the pleasure of feeling our baby boy move for a couple of weeks now. He is definitely getting stronger & larger with every kick & punch! So every evening Kyle & I vegg out on the couch & watch some Netflix (we get our money's worth!). Anywho! Our baby boy must love that time because he just moves around non stop! This past Friday night I just happen to have my hand on my stomach when made a BIG move. I felt a hand/heel/elbow/something move on the right side of my belly-TWICE. It was such a cool feeling & crazy to see my belly move like that!

Kyle has missed out on all of the fun so far (he seems to try & feel our baby move at all the wrong times). FINALLY on Wednesday (the 19th) evening Kyle felt his little boy! Our babe was kicking up a storm so I grabbed Kyles hand & put it on my belly. It was so touching to see Kyle's face when he finally felt our baby moving around. He kept his hand there for close to 5 minutes or so. I started to tear up but then ended up laughing at Kyle's face (he was a little in shock). Kyle told me I had to stop laughing because my belly was moving up & down too much & he couldn't feel the baby! ha! It was a special moment for sure.

With time he will get bigger & will start to run out of room down there-that's when all this moving around won't be so fun for me. A foot in the rib or to the bladder can't be comfy! ;) I do realize I have to enjoy these pleasant movements while I can!

We're having a BOY!

So now that you've gotten all the info you really need by the title & by scrolling thru the pics I'll give you something more to read if you'd like. :)

"The" ultrasound was scheduled for January 7th. The appointment had been made at least a month in advance, work schedules had been rearranged, & the countdown was on. Well, when we got home from Christmas in Hartsville & my phone was all charged up (I forgot my charger so I was phoneless most of the time) I saw that I had a couple of voicemails... My Jan 7th appointment needed to be rescheduled. I was heart broken! I just knew we'd have to wait until closer to February. After making a million phone calls & leaving just as many voicemails at my Dr's office I finally got a call back on Wednesday (Dec 29th) saying I could be worked in the following day! woo hoo! Needless to say I didn't sleep very much that night. I actually slept about 3 hours before I got up & cleaned until it was time to get ready for work! :P

After the LONGEST half day of work of my life I was off to the Dr's office. Kyle's parents came into town for Pat's birthday so we decided to surprise them! Kyle had lunch with Marc & Pat then headed to the Dr's office. We all met up & it was such a fun surprise! So for Pat's birthday we gave her the gift of finding out what her next grandchild would be! :)

The appointment went great! My weight is good (thank goodness because I'm starting to feel pretty round these days), the baby is measuring great (a week bigger but they won't move up the due date), & the heartbeat was amazing! I loved having Kyle there (it was his first ultrasound) & seeing his face when the tech said "it's a boy!" was totally priceless! I have to admit I did kind of yell in excitement & then started crying. haha! Glad Kyle was there to hold my hand. It truly was an awesome experience I will never forget! Many thanks to Kyle, Marc, & Pat for being there!

Later that night Pat decided she wanted to go shopping for our baby boy even though it was her birthday! Take a look at the pic. This baby boy is set for next Holiday season! He probably has 25 Christmas outfits to count him down to Santa coming to town! Oh how I can't wait! Yay for Grandma Pat!

6 weeks & 19 weeks
Can you see the difference? :)

Here's our baby boy! So I guess we were right all along by calling him Lil Kinney!

Baby Update

So I forgot to post these ultrasound pictures with my baby announcement post so I thought I'd do it now!

The day we found out I was pregnant Kyle & I started talking about names. Of course we couldn't agree on anything so instead of arguing we decided to come up with what we would NOT name our kid. Examples: Gertrude, Cletus, & Kinney (Kenny pronounced VERY southern). We fell into the habit of referring to our baby as 'Lil Kinney.' By no means did we, or do we, intend to name our baby that but it was just something fun to do. I tell you all of that for the following picture:

Kyle left this sweet note for me & Lil Kinney for our first Dr's appointment! :)

(15-Oct-2010 Almost 8 weeks)
My first look at our baby! I cried at the sight of that little tiny peanut! You could see the heart beating even if the baby was an inch long! Wild!

(1-Nov-2010 10 weeks)
Can you believe how many details you can already see? There's a little foot & everything! I am so very lucky to have 2 ultrasounds by this point! :)

A Bun in the Oven!

If you don't know by now-Kyle & I are expecting our first baby! The due date is May 29th! Will we have a May or June baby?! Either way we are incredibly excited but still a little in shock. Here's how it all began...

Kyle & I agreed that we would hold off on starting a family until Kyle was done with school. Well about January of last year something inside of me clicked & my desire to be a mom really kicked into overdrive. Kyle was set to graduate in December so I thought we could get the party started just a little (ok a lot) early. After lots of talking (& crying on my hormonal part) we decided to hold off a little while longer.

Finally around July of last year we decided to start the whole 'trying to get pregnant' process because you never know how long it could take.... Long story short it took just over a year for the stars to align & there to be a baby in my belly! ;) (One of the hardest & longest years of my life-I couldn't have made it without many prayers, my incredible husband & some amazing friends)

Sept 29th, 2010- I thought I would die when I the pregnancy test actually came back POSITIVE! (it was probably the 20th test I'd taken over the last year & the FIRST to be positive) I immediately started crying & I knew exactly who I had to call. Kyle you say? Nope. MinDee. (to my defense it was a Wednesday morning & Kyle was at work. After trying for this baby for SO long I needed someone could could scream & cry with me-not whisper 'oh nice but I have to go into the meeting'-no offense to Kyle but you catch my drift) Anywho! So I called MinDee but I couldn't say anything I just cried! FINALLY I get to say the 2 words I'd been praying to be able to say "I'M PREGNANT!" It was SO incredible to share that moment with MinDee. She was freaking out with me which in turn made her baby girl Khloee cry but it was totally worth it. After I got off of the phone I took a couple more tests for good measure & called my Dr to set up a visit. It was the longest day waiting for Kyle to get home! So I went out & bought a plain toddler size Tshirt & wrote "Big Sister" on it so Moose could wear it. :)

Moose looks thrilled huh? I don't know if she's ready to share the spotlight!
(I forgot to take a picture of the final product with the due date)

Kyle was in shock when he saw Moose wearing it. After letting it process for a few minutes & looking at each other in shock we hugged & spent the evening chatting about our future baby. (Btw Kyle hates surprises but I HAD to surprise him right?!)

Everything went great at the first Dr's appt. I have had 4 appointments total, loads of bloodwork, & 2 ultrasounds. Speaking of Ultrasounds-When I saw our little munchin & that tiny but healthy heart beat for the first time-I was speechless. Yes I got a tad emotional but how could you not?! It was awesome. I can't wait for Kyle to join me on my next appointment. We'll be finding out the gender & he'll be able to see our baby in real time for the first time! (He hasn't been able to attend any of my other appointments so I'm very excited for him & to find out if we're having a Boy or a Girl!)

Since this post is already crazy long-I will do another post on how we spread the word & my weekly belly pics. :)
