5th Anniversary Part 2

Our weekend of celebrating continued on Saturday. We spent the day with Mom & Cooper shopping, eating, hanging out, etc. Before we knew it, it was time to head down to Lakewood Amphitheater for the Jimmy Buffett Concert!! (For those of you that don't know, Jimmy B is my all time fave)

It was so fun to have another night to ourselves. We got the concert early so we could be one of the first into the amphitheater to throw our blanket down in the grass to claim our seats. (We had general admin tickets) The weather was perfect. The best weather we've ever had for a concert! & the atmosphere was full of  fun & excitement. After a busy day it was nice to just lay/sit on our blanket & relax/people watch while waiting for the show to begin.
Some of the Coral Reefers drove by
before the concert!

Waiting for the show to start!

Zac Brown joined in for a couple of songs!

Loving every minute of it!

"Fins to the left, Fins to the right..."
The concert was Ah-mazing. Seriously. I may be borderline obsessed. I just love being a Parrot Head! I danced & sang the night away like I was on the first row or even on stage with Jimmy & the crew! ha! It was awesome. Don't worry I didn't forget about Kyle. I know he had a good time too but he later stated that this was probably his last Jimmy B concert. I guess 3 was enough for him. Sad day.

After the concert we were STARVING! So on the way home we pit stopped at the Varsity. The greasy goodness of a pimento cheeseburger topped with onion rings just hit the spot. (& it would totally hit the spot right now too!) I guess all that singing about cheeseburgers at the concert got to us. :)

It's ridiculously good.

Thanks to Kyle for putting up with your Jimmy B obsessed wife for another year. :) I kept thinking back to this time last year when we missed the concert due to Cooper's birth. (Coop was due the day of the concert but decided to come a couple of weeks early so he could listen to it) Last year I was at home holding & singing to Cooper while we listened to the concert on Radio Margaritaville.

Time has flown by this past year (& since we've gotten married). I'm so grateful for the time Kyle & I have had together thus far & can't wait to see what the future holds especially now that we have Cooper. I love you, Kyle!

P.S.
Our 1st & 5th year anniversaries were spent pretty similar: ATL, Braves Game, Varsity, & Jimmy B Concert. There were a couple of key factors that made it different. No Bryant & no Jenni. :( They were sorely missed!

Still Here" Jimmy B Concert 2008.

Vegas!

Rachael drove Cooper & I back to Vegas on Sunday (feb 26) to meet up with my good ol pal Jenni. (I finally had to go see her after ALL of her trips to see us!) On our way we stopped really quick to see the Hoover Dam (insanely huge) & didn't discuss the fact that I was leaving. :( We met up with Jenni in her ward & enjoyed Sacrament Mtg there. (Cooper was extremely loud eating, burping, & laughing) Finally it was time to say goodbye to Rach & Charly. It was so sad to say goodbye to one of my bestest friends. I love that girl.

Enough depressingness. Now onto the funtimes we had with Tiger (Jenni) in Vegas! There's no way I can possibly write out ALLLL that we did but I will try. :) First let me just say that you know you have a true friend WHEN.....they greet you with CUPCAKES! yes yes Jenni made a mad delish batch of rainbow chip cupcakes. AH-mahzing!

Vegas Adventures included but were not limited to:
-driving down 'the strip' at night to see ALL the lights
-visiting the LV LDS Temple (so so pretty)
-eating some dang delicious food
-candy, candy, & more candy
-walking all the way up & down the strip (basically)
-the bellagio's fountains, the venetian's gondolas, the wall of water at Aria, & SO much more.
-we encountered someone that we are still not sure if it was a man or a woman
-drove around the gorgeous Red Rock mountains
-ate the BIGGEST pancake known to man (Man vs Food had been there-it's called Hash House A Go Go. You should Go Go if you're ever in Vegas)
-Took in some second hand smoke walking through the Casinos & watching the grandma's gambling in the mornings.
-Toured the Neon Bone Yard-where neon signs go to die
-Margaritaville, M&M store, Albertsons :)

Now on to the billion pictures we took & they are is a crazy order.

LOVE this pic.

Totally got padded down & searched like

glad that Jenni snapped some pics. I was
trying so hard to not laugh the whole time!

We were SO glad to see Daddy. Coop was
a bit overwhelmed by the airport & it was
getting late!

even though they were closing)

Heaven on Earth.

Scary but awesome sign on the tour.
I wish I could remember where all the signs are from.
Cooper was not feeling the tour so I had to keep
a distance.

Somebody's got gas.

The Bellagio is pretty awesome. Here's some beautiful
glass art on the ceiling near the atrium gardens.

In the atrium gardens at the Bellagio. That

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Eating some delish nachos from Hard Rock Cafe.
Cooper wanted nothing to do with it!

such a different but beautiful landscape.
This sandwich was HUGE from Capriotti's & I'm only
holding half of it. I love how it looks like Coop is
taking a bite! :) The sandwich was like a Thanks-
giving feast! turkey, stuffing, cranberries, etc.
More signage.

love this pic.
Cooper & I had such a fun time with Jenni. She was so nice to put aside work for a couple of days for us. She was an awesome tour guide! I can't wait to go back with lots more dough so we can see some shows! I love that Jenni & I make sure we see each other at least once a year. Jenni is an awesome friend. Now she just needs to move to the south. :)

Eating Big Boy Food

well kinda. :) On Halloween night Kyle & I decided we were going to introduce Coop to some 'real' food. No no we didn't give him a fried chicken leg.....yet! haha jk We decided to start Coop off on some Carrots mushy baby food style. It was so fun to watch him try & figure out how to use his tongue & mouth to swallow the mush. He probably would've 'eaten' the whole container of food but we figured we'd start him off slow. He seemed to really enjoy it so since then we've given him some baby food each night as part of his dinner. He's only had carrots & peas so far. (We made sure he had to same food for a few days to make sure he didn't have any reactions) Tonight we may give him some fruit!

trying to figure out what this is all about.

Coop kept sticking his tongue out.
It was funny.

All done eating & covered in carrots!
He was so happy & cute!

I'm glad Poppa, Grandma, & Jenni were here to share this fun 'milestone' with us. Coop is surround by some pretty awesome family.

There Was a Tiger In Town...

Enjoying our Marta ride a little too much!
On Sunday afternoon I took the Marta down to the air port to pick up my dear friend Jenni! (aka Tiger) I had a cupcake ready for her when she got to our place. That night Kyle grilled a yummy dinner for us & we just sat around chatting. Well some of us were chatting... :)

:)
Jenni meeting Cooper.
(Moose is a blur because she was SO
excited to have Jenni here!)
Monday was chill. Jenni & I enjoyed a delicious lunch at Chickfila followed by some fun in World Market & WalMart. That night Marc & Pat came over for dinner. Kyle & I cooked breakfast for dinner. :) We all kept forgetting it was Halloween!

Tuesday we worked our booties off! Jenni, Coop, & I toured & hiked Stone Mountain. It was so fun to get a work out while spending time with Jenni & enjoying the outdoors. Cooper loved being in the back pack & seeing all the scenery. It's such a beautiful trail up to the top-especially with all the colorful leaves. Once at the top we were able to see all over Georgia! I am seriously proud of not only going up but also down the mountain. Coop & Jenni kept me going! :)
On our way to the TOP!

It was a bit windy.

We did it Coop! We did it!!
planking it at 1,700 feet up!
Don't ask...

Coop was exhausted after the hike.

Jenni laying back & enjoying the view at the
bottom of the mntn.

Wednesday came too soon. It was the day that Jenni had to head back home to Vegas. We didn't do a lot-mainly just enjoyed our little bit of time left together by chatting & laughing. We did meet up with Kyle, Marc, & Pat at the Varsity for lunch. Then we headed to the Temple to enjoy it's beauty. Before we knew it-Jenni had to head to the air port. Sad day.

Coop & Moose didn't want Tiger to go.

I am SO very glad that Jenni came to visit & meet Cooper. We loved having her here! She's such an amazing person & I've been so blessed to have her as a friend over the years. THANK YOU for all the goodtimes!
